Dec. 1970
   Gained Higher School Certificate with passes in English, Physics, Pure Maths,
   Calculus & Applied Maths and Chemistry (Melbourne).

Feb. 1971
   Under Scholarship, commenced studies toward a Degree in
   Communications & Electronic Engineering at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

Aug.1972
   Left RMIT to become a professional musician and toured Australia repeatedly.

Aug.1974
   Moved to Mount Gambier (SA) and established resident showband.
   Completed correspondence course in Musical Arranging with Berklee Conservatorium (USA).
   Employed by SA Education Department teaching guitar and Theory to High School students.
   Established private recording studio and teaching practice. Completed extensive
   audio production projects (studio and location) for local television and radio broadcast.
   Elected Musical Director for South East Modern Music Society - a 17-piece workshop/stageband.
   Produced, arranged and engineered first LP and singles in region.
 

Oct.1978
   Moved to Sydney under invitation to join Johnny O'Keefe showband.
   Worked as Musical Director for Normie Rowe following JOK's death - this would continue until
   March '80. Granted (via examination) membership of Musical Arrangers Guild of Aust. (MAGA) as
   qualified arranger and copyist.

Mar.1979
   Completed diploma in Sound Recording & Engineering at the
   Academy of Sound Recording Engineers (Sydney). Referred to and consequently employed by,
   CBS Records (now Sony Music) Australia as Recording Technician1.

Feb.1981
   Promoted to Studio Manager2 and transferred from Recording Department to oversee
   development of in-house sound studio facilities. Enrolled and began Television Operational
   Techniques Certificate course at North Sydney Technical College.

Nov.1981
   Awarded Highest Pass-Stage I from Nth.Sydney Tech.
   Developed CBS video facilities to provide in-house and on-line tape duplicating, editing & dubbing,
   post production and graphics. Maintained a large output of training videos, domestic and international
   product presentations and commercials.

Nov.1982
   Awarded Highest Pass-Stage II from Nth.Sydney Tech.

Mar.1983
   Promoted to Director, Artists & Repertoire3for CBS . Completed five overseas trips to promote
   Australian recorded music to global affiliates. Worked in every major Australian recording studio
   and in many in UK, France, Belgium, Japan and USA4.
   Designed and oversaw completion of 24 track studio facilities for CBS (now Sony Music Studios).

Jun.1986
   Resigned from CBS and moved to Noosa Heads,Queensland.

Jan.1987
   Employed by the Apex Club of Gympie as Sponsorship & Promotions Coordinator5
   for their annual National Country Music Muster - the largest outdoor CM festival in Australia.

Mar.1987
   Completed TAFE course in Creative Writing.

Oct. 1987
   Joined Stereo 56/4GY as Sales and Advertising Consultant6 based at Noosa.

Apr.1988
   Promoted to Promotions Manager at Stereo 567.

Jun.1988
   Offered and accepted position as Sales Executive/Copywriter at 4SS/MIXFM (Nambour).

Sep.1988
   Offered and accepted position Media Sales Representative8 with Sunshine Coast
   Newspaper Company. This position would continue, albeit eventually on a part-time basis, until Nov.'96.

Jan. 1989
   Began live musical performance again and established 'Look Ma,No Hands!' - a highly successful
   and popular Sunshine Coast duo.

Jul.1989
   Produced and arranged numerous albums at Stageshow Studios (Nambour).

Dec.1991
   Teamed with American harmonica player Doc Span. Together this duo performed
   literally thousands of gigs, recorded 4 albums and appeared at every major Australian
   blues festival in all States.

Mar.1996
   Awarded BASF Sunnie Award for Best Blues/R&B album - 'The Last Train',
   an all-original, self recorded and produced acoustic effort with Doc Span.

Jun.1996
   Granted Full Membership of Australian Performing Rights Association (APRA).

Feb.1997
   Enrolled and began studies toward a Bachelor of Music-Performance (Jazz Studies)
   at Queensland Conservatorium of Music.

Mar.2000
   Along with musical partner Doc Span, awarded Sunshine Coast Entertainer(s) of the Year.
   Won Noosa Olympic Song Contest with self-penned "Lazy Noosa Sunday".
   Continued studies in multimedia. Developed competency in the programs listed here.

Nov. 2000
   Completed Bachelor of Music at QCM.
   Released debut solo acoustic guitar album "Swamprat calling..."
   Established commercial multimedia development company, RawMedia.
   Accepted position as lecturer in Certificate IV in Contemporary Music Performance & Sound Engineering
   at Southbank Institute of Technology's Contemporary Music Centre

March 2003
  Commenced as Sessional Lecturer at Griffith University Conservatorium of Music (Gold Coast) in their
  Bachelor of Popular Music program.

December 2004
   Completed BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment at Bremer Institute of TAFE

July 2009

Accepted fulltime academic position lecturing in Popular Music at Queensland Conservatorium in the Bachelor of Popular Music

   Duties included: tape transfers; compilations; editing; disc cutting (mastering);
   A/V presentations; test pressing and QC evaluation; machine maintenance.

   Duties included: design, construction, equipment evaluation and purchase and installation;
   bookkeeping procedures implemented; reporting systems implemented.
   The initial demo studio was designed to offer CBS artists a comfortable yet workable writing environment.
   Many overseas producers used this facility during preproduction. A massive amount of demos were
   produced including demos for Men At Work, The Angels, Midnight Oil, Mi-Sex, Mental As Anything.

   Duties included: New talent acquisition, responsibility for securing, recording, marketing
   and promoting of Australian artists on the CBS roster, approving and maintaining record budgets,
   hiring of producers/engineers/video crew etc.. Developing overseas sampling and release programs.

   Duties included: preparing reports to potential and existing sponsors; talent acquisition;
   coordination of all pre-event publicity and media releases.

   Duties included: copywriting for radio; media campaign design; financial control; direct sales.

   throughout the Noosa District.
